ATSF 3759 parked in Kingman, AZ.
It's got 80" driving wheels! Built 1927-28 by Baldwin.
[I'm going to have to go back (it's a hundred miles) and retake this; I don't like the other shots I took at all.]

Great that it's preserved. Too bad it doesn't operate.

Güter auf die Bahn!
I'd sure like to see it with a few old Pullmans and running out here. I heard that track speed around Seligman is around 80 mph.

Nice shot. This one doesn't run but her sister, #3751 does.

Just how deep does the rabbit hole go?

Mark, I finally took the time to look up #3751; it turns out that I missed out on some beautiful shots when it came through Northern AZ in 2002, since I was off the net from 2000-2004. Dang, I hate it when that happens.
Thanks for the pointer.

You're welcome. I've missed a few fantrips myself only to find out later they were right in the neighborhood. The good news is they'll be coming around again one day. :)

The pics don't do it justice. There's a placard on the other side which gives its weight; it was almost half a million pounds, and the driving wheels are 81" high.
I'm going back for another redo when the summer heat is gone; maybe October.

Man thats a BIG train. We saw a similar one at York recently, a huge black chinese steamer, it was immense!
